guides and drivers, adventure such as this
is worry-free. |
Q: Do you have a support vehicle?
A: Yes, several. Depending on your
desired level of adventure, our support vehicles
can be convenient enough for lunch and luggage,
or just be available for emergency
response.
Q: How long are your tours?
Alpine Sands trips are all
custom packages. We do not have canned packages.
The length of your tour is based on how much
time you have available, the level of adventure
you want, how far you prefer to ride
each day, and on what type of terrain. Our tours
range from three days to several weeks.
Q: We only have five
days. Can we get in a good ride covering of the
four state (Colorado, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico)
area in that time?
Yes, though you'll make sacrifices with regards
to points of interest and high mileage days.
For a more fulfilling experience, we suggest
you narrow you target area to a specific geography
type or region.
Q: I have always wanted to ride over a 10,000
foot alpine pass and across the desert floor
in the same day. Is that possible?
You bet, that is one of our favorite aspects
of touring in the Colorado/Utah area known as
the Colorado Plateau. The geology and topography
of the plateau are like none other in the world.
You can have coffee in alpine tundra, lunch in
a sub-alpine forest, spend the afternoon roosting
sand, and experience sunset overlooking an arid
red rock canyon.

| Which way? Let Alpine Sands help. |
Q: My group is coming from Europe. Can you help
us with shipping logistics and bike preparation?
Yes, our competent staff is familiar with
the intricacies of international shipping, registering
and receiving motorcycles. If you book a tour
with us, we will make every effort on
the arrangements, so you can focus on the adventure
experience.
Q: We like to camp but hate busy campgrounds.
Are there alternatives?
We don’t care for public campgrounds
either. Alpine Sands Motorcycle Adventures has
developed special relationships with lodges and
private land owners for exclusive
camping spots or rustic western lodging. Our
criteria is strict in selecting these locations.
Q: How far in advance do we need to book a tour?
A rule of thumb is three months in advance.
However, certain factors can negate that rule.
For example, a longer tour, a tour that includes
multiple adventure activities (rafting, hiking,
4x4 tours, etc.) may require several months advance
planning. An exotic tour to places such as the
Yukon or Alaska might require a prior year booking.
A brief three day tour may only need a few weeks
to plan, but short notice is iffy as we may already
be booked.
Q: Does Alpine Sands Motorcycle Adventures rent
bikes?
No. Most of our guests either ride in, trailer
in, or ship their motorcycles in for a tour.
However, we have established relationships with
motorcycle rental companies and can facilitate
your rental needs.
Q: Do you offer women
only tours?
Yes. As more women enter the motorcycle market
we recognize the desire for a certain independence
among women riders. Our female guides offer exciting
tours focused on the free spirit and independence
of women riders.
Q: Safety -- what if something bad happens?
The safety of our guests and guides is the
highest priority of Alpine Sands Motorcycle Adventures.
We start by taking great strides to understand
the rider skill level of each guest. We then
develop a matching route
plan for that skill level. Alternate routes are
pre-planed. Every route is pre-ridden
by a guide just before the actual tour begins.
Every guide carries a satellite telephone on
every tour. Our capable support vehicles are
usually no more than a few hours away.
While we make every effort to ensure safe travel,
if an emergency incident does occur, medical
assistance is one phone call and a short helicopter
ride away.
